Hashtags Really Do Work
Do hashtags really work? Yes! In today’s episode, I am sharing the importance of using hashtags on Instagram for growth. I share my personal journey with hashtags and how niched ones helped me reach my target audience.
On my own journey, I discovered that hashtags with fewer than 850,000 uses but more than 10,000 were the sweet spot for visibility. This was a game-changer for me, and I want to emphasize the importance of researching and tracking the performance of your hashtags regularly. Trends and audience preferences can change, and staying on top of these changes can make a significant difference.
I share about one of my clients Sherron, who is part of the fashion industry and LGBTQ space, really shows the power of hashtag use. By implementing hashtags in her strategy, I helped Sherron grow from 127 followers to 1,000 followers in 6 months!
As you think about your own brand or business, consider what makes you unique. This uniqueness is what will help make you searchable, using hashtags that align with your niche. I’ve seen many make the mistake of not using hashtags at all or using overly generic ones. I want to encourage you to use hashtags that resonate with your target audience and explore the hashtags followed by similar profiles.
Instagram insights can be a powerful tool to track the performance of your hashtags. It's important to monitor these numbers and make sure they are going in the right direction. If not, it may be necessary to switch up your hashtags and try something new.
Hashtags are a brilliant way to reach new people, and I assure you, they are here to stay. However, to make them work for you, it's essential to have a strategy and plan in place.
If you're still unsure about hashtags and need help understanding them, I invite you to join the next "Hashtags Made Simple" masterclass. This 90-minute live workshop will provide you with the exact secrets I use to build successful hashtag strategies. As a listener, you can save $10 off the next masterclass!
