Managing Stress from Social Media
Does social media sometimes leave you feeling stressed? Today’s episode is for you! I’m discussing ways to manage stress from social media and my three tips to step away from the burnout that can happen from social media!
My first tip I have for you is to step away from burnout culture. It’s so easy to get caught up in the constant online presence which can lead to burnout fast. The pressure that we have as business owners to constantly show up online can be overwhelming and may make you feel like quitting. I suggest you schedule posts in advance and create a schedule for your online presence. Limit notifications and also know that it’s okay to say “no”. Remember to take time for yourself and have boundaries around when you are online.
My second tip to manage social media stress is to stop comparing yourself to others. It’s so easy to look at others — their follower counts, their accomplishments and feel inadequate. You are on your own unique journey. If you are feeling negative emotions around certain accounts, I recommend unfollowing or muting them. Focus n your own personal growth and your own progress. Don’t forget to celebrate how far you have come and the great things you are doing! I even recommend tracking your progress and taking screenshots of insights every month to help you see just how far you have come.
Another strategy that you can use to avoid social media stress is learning to create content that you prefer! Creating content should not be a stressful process. When you focus on what you enjoy and what your audience likes, you can show up authentically as yourself which helps to manage social media stress.
If you are feeling stuck with creating content or want to be a part of a community of like-minded women who are learning from me and from each other, I am offering a special offer for my listeners to join The Sufficiently Social Society! Go to www.iamalicianoelle.com/society to join!
